Shoulder rivets are commonly used to act as a pivot, hinge pin or slide pin. They have lower unit costs then similar screw machine parts and have the added benefit of being set on automatic feed riveting machines for minimal overall cost. You can have either a solid or semi-tubular tenon on shoulder rivets.
